We’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of BEE SECURE, the Luxembourg Safer Internet Centre, at the next salon on December 8th looking at the most significant things that happened in privacy in the last 10 years.

You won’t want to miss this trip down memory lane exploring the good, the bad & the plain ugly aspects of privacy in the digital world of the past decade – make sure you have plenty of popcorn 😉

Luxembourg Digital Privacy Salon is free, intended for everyone, no prior technical expertise is assumed.

Digital Privacy Salons are skill & knowledge sharing sessions which aim to teach people the basic ways of protecting themselves and their data from intrusive surveillance and unwanted/unwitting information gathering.

Generally the salons deal with how to have private conversations over instant messaging, emails, how to browse anonymously amongst other things.

It is very important that you leave the Privacy Salon with tools & knowledge you can use on a daily basis, and explain to your friends how to do it too. All the attendees should come with device(s) they want to install tools on.

Everyday we use tools to communicate and work over the Internet, even more so in the pandemic situation we are currently in. The majority of these tools are sucking up and monetising our information, but what can we do if we want to work & communicate while protecting our privacy at the same time?

Following on from the discussions in the last Privacy Salon, in this edition we’ll be looking at some tools & platforms to do just that, exploring the background issues and showing how they are used in real world contexts.
