Next Digital Privacy Salon 15/10/19: Cybersecurity Week Special: Security Games

What is Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg?

Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg is an advocacy-campaign week, which aims to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats, promote cybersecurity among citizens, corporate and SMEs, and provide up-to-date security information through education and sharing best practices.

Security Games?

Privacy Salon will be participating in Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg by holding a special edition where we will be playing some security games. These games are aimed at making the players think about and become more aware of “security ” issues in their daily and work lives. Think puzzles, party  and observation games rather than technical protocols etc.

Come with friends as a team, join a team on the evening or play on your own. For introverts/extroverts and anywhere in-between…

This event is is free, intended for everyone and no prior technical expertise is assumed nor required.

Privacy Salon?

For more information on Privacy Salon read this @sachaheck post about a Salon and this interview with Rosi, asking about her transition from Privacy Salon attendee to speaker. The interview is also available in French and German.

Digital Privacy Salons are skill & knowledge sharing sessions which aim to teach people the basic ways of protecting themselves and their data from intrusive surveillance and unwanted/unwitting information gathering.

Generally the salons deal with how to have private conversations over instant messaging, emails, how to browse anonymously amongst other things.

It is very important that you leave the Privacy Salon with tools & knowledge you can use on a daily basis, and explain to your friends how to do it too. All the attendees should come with device(s) they want to install tools on.

– We’ll discuss why cryptography, anonymity and anti-tracking tools are important today
– We’ll install online anonymity tools
– We’ll secure our communications
– We’ll make sure we can’t be easily tracked online
– We’ll have a drink and a chat
